Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups Warm water

Instructions 

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Divide the dough into 8 pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Poke a hole in the center of each ball to form a bagel shape.
  7. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Boil the bagels, 2-3 at a time, for 1 minute on each side.
  8. Place the boiled bagels on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, until golden brown.
