Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 large eggplants sliced
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 400 g canned tomatoes chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup béchamel sauce
  • ½ cup grated cheese

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Slice eggplants, sprinkle with salt, and let sit for 30 minutes. Rinse and pat dry.
  3. In a frying pan, cook ground beef until browned. Add chopped onion and garlic, cook until softened.
  4. Add canned tomatoes and cinnamon to the meat mixture. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. In a baking dish, layer eggplant slices and meat mixture. Top with béchamel sauce and grated cheese.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
