Main Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoon Shortening
- ¾ cup Warm water
- 1 cup Honey for serving
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Gradually add warm water, mixing until the dough comes together.
On a floured surface, knead the dough until smooth, about 5 minutes.
Roll out the dough to ⅛ inch thickness and cut into 3-inch squares.
Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Fry the squares in hot oil until golden brown and puffed, about 1-2 minutes per side.
Drain on paper towels and serve warm with honey.
